FLOYD CHARLES WILSON

Floyd Charles Wilson, son of Frank and Olive DeVault Wilson, was born on the family farm southwest of Earlham, Iowa on July 24, 1924. He attended country school for eight years and graduated from Earlham High School in 1942, never missing a day of school in twelve years.

Floyd established a trucking business and hauled livestock, grain and general freight for many years. In May of 1962, Floyd married Margaret Walker. Floyd later married Margaret Dalton and they lived in Colorado. After her death, he moved to Apache Junction, Arizona where he was an active member of the Desert Bible Chapel. He was an excellent wood carver and was a member of the Des Moines Woodcarvers. He especially enjoyed joining them each year at the Iowa State Fair.

When his health began to fail, Floyd moved back to Earlham, Iowa to live with his sister Helen and niece Bonnie. He passed away at Kavanagh House on 56th St. in Des Moines, Iowa on August 28, 2011.
