Section A, page 11Services for Paul C. Rutherford, 80, of 6504 S.W. Seventeenth St., who died of leukemia at his home Sunday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Penn Center Cemetery near Earlham.
Mr. Rutherford was born in Guthrie Center and lived in Des Moines for 36 years. He also had lived in Earlham. He retired in 1971 as a warehouseman for the old Iowa Liquor Commission and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; two daughters, Pauline Cron of Des Moines and Opal Chamberlin of Monroe; a brother, Carl Rutherford of Guthrie Center; three sisters, Mary Parrish of Adel, Lois Culver of Panora and Nina Madsen of Walker, Minn.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Central Iowa.
