Ernest E. Maulsby Jr., age 87 of Nashua, Iowa died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospice.

A public memorial visitation will be held 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday May 27, 2010 at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua.

Ernest was born on June 18, 1922, in Earlham, IA son of Ernest Maulsby, Sr. and Evaline White Maulsby. He married Marian Demro on August 6, 1944, in Des Moines. She preceded him in death in 2009.

Ernest served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was an airline pilot for United Airlines for 36 1/2 years.

He is survived by his son, Duke (Paula) of Anderson, California; a daughter, Nancy Galios of Nashua; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, C.R. Maulsby; a sister, Hazel Mason; and a son-in-law, Stephan Galios.
