Obituary:
Merle Maxine McMichael, daughter of Ezra Thomas Evison and Mary May (Hurley) Evison was born June 23, 1921 in Madison County, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, June 11, 2011 at her home in Truro, Iowa at the age of 89 years.
Merle attended Patterson School. She was united in marriage to Carl Ernest McMichael on October on October 26, 1940 at Grant City, MO and five children blessed this union. Together they farmed and raised their family in Madison County until moving to Truro. Carl preceded her in death in 1988.
Merle was a member of Oak Run Circle, Truro Lions Club and the Ft. Des Moines Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, working search-a-word books, cribbage, scrabble and spending time with her family. She enjoyed the Lions breakfasts and all the Lions Club activities and she ran the Community Coffee Shop for many years.
Those relatives who preceded Merle in death were her parents; husband Carl McMichael; infant daughter, Nancy Jean and six siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Joyce Patton and her husband David Hendricks of Adel; daughter, Donna Hudson and husband Mark of Arispe; daughter, Shirley Craig and husband Bill of Shannon City; son, Richard McMichael and wife Patty of Truro; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter other relatives and a host of friends.
