Keith Hayden, Burley, Idaho

Burley, Idaho - Omer Keith Hayden's challenges in life ended May 17, 2011, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center from complications of congestive heart failure.

He was born March 7, 1928, the fourth of nine children born to Teddy and Regina Hayden in Peru, Iowa. Keith grew up in a rural setting and had to ride a horse to school since he was not able to walk. He faced his physical challenges determined to get an education and be independent. After numerous surgeries he was able to graduate from Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa, then on to business college in Des Moines, Iowa.

Keith worked for the State of Iowa for 35 years as an accountant retiring in 1990. He loved to travel and found Idaho to his liking and moved to Burley in 1992 to live near his sister and brother-in-law, Norene and Scott Zimmerman.

In addition to Norene and Scott, Keith is survived by sisters, Beulah Harrison, Grace Anne Faux, Helen (Willis) Salsbury, and Marjorie (John) Gallentine, and brother, Merrill (Corleen) Hayden all of Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Faye Palmer and Floene Morrison; brothers-in-law, Perley Palmer, Donald Harrison, Elton Faux and Lynn Morrison; one niece; and seven nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at the Pleasant View Cemetery, 1645 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Pastor Jerry Langford of the Heyburn Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating.

Friends and family may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dr. Glen Page, the staff at Cassia Regional Medical Center and to Intermountain Hospice for the excellent care given to Keith.
