Earlham

Mrs. Gilbert Weatherly died at her home in Earlham last Monday afternoon. She had been sick for a few weeks, but was recovering nicely when she suffered a stroke of paralysis and died in a short time. Mr. Weatherly was in Des Moines, and was summoned at once, receiving the word on his arrival, of the death of his wife.

The funeral service was held at the home on Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Keast. A short service was also held at the Penn Center cemetery, where interment was made.

Mrs. Weatherly spent her girlhood and school days in Earlham, and was well known and loved by many. She, with her husband, has lived during their fifteen years of married life, in different towns in Iowa, Missouri, and Texas, where Mr. Weatherly either owned or taught in a business college. They spent one winter as tourists in the west. More than two years ago, they moved back to Earlham, where Mr. Weatherly had a position in the schools until the early part of last summer. He now has a position with the government as collector of income taxes. They, last year, erected one of the best residences in Earlham, which was always open to their friends.

Mrs. Weatherly leaves her husband, son Paul, also a mother, Mrs. Bartell; one sister, Mrs. Chas. Benson; two brothers, George and Carl, all of Earlham, to mourn the loss of a wife, mother, daughter and sister.
