Everett McCleary Addy, son of Finly and Hattie Addy was born in Madison county, Iowa, September 5th, 1886, and departed this life August 22nd, 1920, age 33 years, 11 months and 17 days.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his father, one brother, Edmond Thomas of Mitchell, South Dakota and three sisters, Mrs. Ferne Ryan and Letha and Jewell, besides his Aunt Ella who was with him on the farm and hosts of relatives and friends. His mother passed away when he was but a boy.

Everett was a faithful, loving son and brother and a loyal friend.

He enlisted in the world war, leaving Winterset in December, 1917 for Ft. Flagler, Washington. He sailed from New York and landed in France August 2nd of the next year. He belonged to Bat. E., Co. C, 63rd Art., A. E. F. He was discharged at Camp Dodge, March 13, 1919.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., August 25th at North Branch Church where he was laid to rest by the side of his mother.
