Earlham Echo – January 29, 1931

William G. Potter was born February 7, 1853 at Orleans, New York, and passed away January 24, 1931, at Sheldon, Iowa.

He was married Jan. 1881, to Miss Sabina Hadley at Earlham. To this union were born two daughters, Myrtle Alma Potter and Mrs. Flossie Elizabeth Johnson. Both daughters and the wife preceded Mr. Potter in death. The only surviving member of his immediate family is Miss Alma Potter of Sheldon, with whom he made his home.

For more than forty years Mr. Potter made his home in Earlham. The past four years he has been with his sister Alma in Sheldon.

He was a birthright member of the Friends Church.

Funeral services were held at the Houlihan Undertaking Parlors in Sheldon Monday at 2:30. Rev. B. W. Riner, pastor of the M. E. Church officiated. The body was then brought to Earlham Tuesday where services were held in the Friends Church, With the pastor Rev. S. N. Hester officiating. Burial was in Earlham cemetery.
