Winterset Madisonian – June 22, 1921
Pg 6
Earlham

Mrs. Perry Hadley died on Monday morning and the funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Friends church. Rev. Lescault had charge of the services, assisted by Rev. John Hadley, a brother-in-law of the deceased. Interment was made in the Earlham cemetery. Mrs. Hadley was known and loved by everyone for her kind and sympathetic natures and her true, loyal Christian character. She leaves her husband to morn the loss of his wife, and four daughters: Mrs. Cora Applegate and Mrs. Carroll McKibban, of Earlham, Mrs. Zealott of Des Moines and Mrs. Anna Hinshaw, with their husbands and children to mourn the loss of one of the best mothers that is known in this world. Yet they mourn not as these who have no home for she left every evidence that the Christ whom she served in life was sufficient in the hour of death and that she now reigns with Him in Heaven.

Note: Buried in Bear Creek cemetery, northwest of Earlham.
