Former Resident Dies in New Jersey

Funeral services were held this Monday, July 29 at Gillette, New Jersey for Mrs. Adelaide Travis Preston, former Madison County resident.

Mrs. Preston died July 26 at the Community Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. She was 90 years of age.

A daughter of William Martin and Mary Young Travis she was born January 23, 1884.

For the past 22 years she lived in Millington, New Jersey. Her husband, Harvey, died in 1940.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Montgomery, where she resided, two sons, Elmo Preston of Greenburg, Pennsylvania and Kenneth Preston of Banking Ridge, Pennsylvania, also four sisters, Mrs. Nell Sprinkle of Lavonia, Mich., Mrs. Laura Hollen, Mrs. Elizabeth Pennebaker and Mrs. Louisa Sawyer, all of Iowa; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Burial was made in ---- Memorial Cemetery in Kenilworth, New Jersey.
