Beardsley Rites Set Saturday

Winterset, Ia. - Services for Theodore Beardsley, 89, of Winterset, who died of a heart ailment Thursday in Winterset Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at Peru.

Mr. Beardsley, a retired farmer, was a life-long resident of Madison County. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Zella Wicklund of Des Moines and Mabel Beardsley of Winterset; a son, Harry M. of Des Moines; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

THEE BEARDSLEY DIES AT 89 YEARS

Services Held Saturday for Life-Long Resident of County

Thee Beardsley of Winterset, a life long resident of Madison county died Thursday, Oct 28, at memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 89 years of age.

Mr. Beardsley was born in Scott township May 26, 1876, a son of Noel M. and Martha White Beardsley. His life was spent in farming in this county. He had been a member of the Christian church for 67 years, and was affiliated with the I.O.O.F. lodge. He was married at Peru on Jan 7 1901, to Clara May Cornelison. She preceded him in death. His 11 brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Mr Beardsley leaves two daughters, Mabel Beardsley of Winterset and Mrs. Zella Wicklund of Des Moines, a son, Harry Beardsley of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Wilson Funeral home here, conducted by the Rev. William Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
