Van Meter Special, April 15th.---Guy Carlton Driscoll, a former resident of this community, died Tuesday morning, April 10th, at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. Mr. Driscoll was born in Illinois in 1854. In 1877 he married Miss Mary Hayner and in the early 80’s they came to Iowa, settling in the northern part of Madison county where they made their home for many years. Mrs. Driscoll passed away in 1921 and since then Mr. Driscoll has made his home much of the time in Des Moines with his daughter, Mrs. Vesta Davis. One son Charles preceded his father in death in 1914.
Surviving are three sons, Alva and Leslie Driscoll of Van Meter and Carl of Winterset and two daughters Mrs. Etta Perkins of Laurens and Mrs. Vesta Davis of Des Moines.
The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Fisher Funeral home in charge of Mrs. Huffman, a Christian Science Reader from Des Moines. Burial was in the Union Chapel cemetery.

Guy C. Driscoll, former resident of Van meter, died April 10 in Des Moines.
He was born in Victoria, Illinois, July 23, 1854, coming to Iowa about forty-eight years ago. He was married October 24, 1877 to Mary C. Haynes, at Victoria. Six children were born to them, five of whom are living; Etta Perins of Laurens; Carl of Winterset; Alva and Leslie of Van Meter and Vesta Davis of Des Moines.
He became a member of the Congregational church of Victoria. after coming to Iowa he joined the Maple Grove Methodist church and for a number of years had been a member of the Christian church in Des Moines.
He had lived in Madison an Dallas counties about forty years. The last few years he had been in Des Moines.
Services were held at the Fisher funeral home in Van Meter April 12 and burial was in the Chapel cemetery.
