Charles E. Worthing, son of Richard and Sarah Worthing was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, December 17, 1862 and passed away at his home in Truro, Iowa, September 20th, 1933, aged 70 years, 9 months and 3 days.

He came to Iowa with his parents in 1880 and settled on a farm 2 ½ miles east of Truro. He lived there several years then returned to Ohio which was his home for fifteen years, then again returned to Truro, Iowa where he spent the remainder of his life.

Early in life he joined the Ohio Baptist church and in later years united with the Christian church of Truro. He lived an honest and upright life and was a good and useful citizen. He leaves to mourn his loss, two sons, Walter of New Concord, Ohio; Kenneth of Cambridge, Ohio, and two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Johnson of Cambridge, Ohio and Grace of Truro, Iowa; five grandchildren, one brother, John E. Worthing of Peru and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon and interment at Worthing cemetery.
