MRS. MARY I. GRAY

Mary I. McCormick was born near Mt. Springs, Ind., Jan. 3, 1862. Passed away at her home on April 9, 1917, age 55 years, 3 months, 5 days. She was married to Laurie Baker in 1882. To their union were born Mrs. Stella Pullman of Minneapolis, Minn; and Claude of Nesa City, Kansas.

In 1891 she was married to John Gray of Eagle Grove, Iowa. They came to Madison county in 1901 and this has since been their home, except one year spent in Minnesota. To the later union three children were born; Forest, who died in infancy; Mrs. W. C. Foster of Winnebago, Minn; and Arlie, who remained at home.

When young she was a member and constant attendant of the Christian church, and later united with the church of this place. Her illness was not long, but her suffering was almost constant, although everything that medical attendants, loving children and friends could do was done to relieve her pain and accomplish her recovery. One of the most patient, kind and loving of mothers and neighbors, her passing away is keenly felt by all.

Besides the four children who were present, she leaves an aged mother and father, one sister and two brothers, all of Indiana; two step children, three grand children and many other relatives and friends who mourn their loss.
