MORTUARY - Frances Dryden Harrell

Frances Indiana Harrell was born in Lawrence, Ind., Feb. 27,1832 and died on Feb. 18, 1917, being 83 years, 11 months and 10 days of age. She was united in marriage to Daniel I. Harrell on Feb. 26, 1854. To this union were born ten children: three sons and seven daughters, only three being alive now. They are Mrs. Sarah Ford, Mrs. Stella Jones and Miss Frances Harrell, also one step daughter, Mrs. Mary Elwell. Besides one brother, William Dryden of Jackson county, Indiana, Mrs. Harrell is survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In 1869 she became a member of the Christian church. Removing to Iowa, in the fall of 1871, she found a church home in the Methodist church, then held in Lincoln school house. Nineteen years ago she came to Winterset to live, her death occurring at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ford. She bore her illness with fortitude and patience, winning the love of all who visited her, by her submissive endurance of physical sufferings.

Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church Saturday afternoon by Rev. M. M. Cable.

Transcriber's Note: Burial was at the Winterset cemetery
