Dexter, Iowa
January 1919Anna Louise, little daughter of Royal O. and Opal Margaret Sheldon was born Tuesday Dec. 3rd, 1918, two miles east of Dexter in Madison county; and departed for the heavenly home above in north Redfield Wednesday, January 22nd, 1919, being at the time of her death seven weeks and one day old, which was to a day the age of the little sister Helen Bernice who preceded her over a year ago.
Little Louise was an unusually bright healthy looking child and the night before went to sleep apparently well but wakened on Wednesday morning with a high fever and in a few short hours the little spirit had departed to the God who gave it.
The memory of her dear little face will be treasured by us all that knew her and though our hearts are sad and dreary now, some day, in a fairer and better land, we shall understand why we were called upon to part with the little ones who are the light of our homes.
Upon the parents does this trial weight most heavily but we can only commend them to the One who said, “Not my will, oh Father, but Thine be one.”
The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Buryl Babcock of Des Moines, the pastor of the Christian church at Redfield in the presence of a large number of relatives, friends and neighbors.
