William Tell Moore, son of Paul and Jane Hartsook Moore, was born in Galia County, Ohio, March 17, 1846, and departed this life, at his home in Earlham, Iowa, Dec. 26, 1925, having lived 79 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

In 1856 he moved with his parents, in a covered wagon, to Knox County, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hardesty, February 24, 1870, with whom he lived happily until her death on May 17, 1919. To this union was born seven children: L. P.; Blondell who died in infancy; Daisy; John; Will; George and Fern. L. P., George and Fern survive their father, the others having preceded him to the spirit world.

Mr. Moore, with his family, moved to a farm in Penn township, Madison county, in December 1892. He made his home on this place until the spring of 1905, when he moved to Dexter. In the fall of 1917 he moved to Earlham, making his home there until his death.

Brother Moore united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Dexter, transferring his membership to the Earlham church, upon making Earlham his home, and continued in this fellowship to his call above.

He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Dexter, Iowa.

Mr. Moore has been in failing health for the past year. On Saturday he went to sleep and quietly passed on in that undiscovered Country from which bourne no traveler ever returns.

The funeral service was held from the Earlham Methodist church, on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. E. A. Thomas, assisted by Rev. D. J. McKay. The body was laid to rest in the Dexter cemetery.
