Page 9Grace Bell Hindman, daughter of Charles and Agnes Mount, was born in Lincoln township, Adair county, Iowa on June 9, 1884, and departed this life November 27, 1927, aged 43 years, 5 months and 18 days.
She was the third child in a family of five children. Those surviving her are: Mrs. Minnie Dennis and Mrs. Ida McPherson, of Dexter; Mrs. Ethel Vanduzer, of Menlo, and Edgar A. Mount, of Stuart.
On August 23, 1905, she was united in marriage to R. A. Hindman, of Pitzer. To this union were born six children, two of whom preceded her in death, they were a pair of twin girls who died in infancy. The remaining four are Wayne, Worth, Loren and Agnes.
She was converted an confessed her faith in Christ when in her teens and joined the Methodist church at Mt. Vernon, but shortly after her marriage to Mr. Hindman she moved her letter of membership from Mt. Vernon to the United Presbyterian church at Pitzer. She had been a consistent Christian since her conversion.
She had been in failing health for more than a year, the last eight weeks before her death her suffering had been intense, yet she faced it bravely. She was operated on several times in an effort to stay the disease that was sapping her life. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, four children, three sisters and one brother, besides many friends and neighbors.
Note: Burial was made in the Oak Grove cemetery, Stuart, Iowa.
