Eli Johnson died at the Madison county farm, Saturday, November 17, at the age of 86 years. Mr. Johnson had been an inmate of the county home for 44 years, going there on account of his crippled condition, when he was a comparatively young man. He had been in poor health for some time.

Funeral services were held at the county home, and burial was made in the Bear Creek cemetery, northwest of Earlham.
