Page 1Death of SAMUEL HOLLIDAY
Of interest to Madison county people, is the news of the death of Samuel L. Holliday, at his home in Livingston, Montana. Mr. Holliday was a contributor to the anniversary edition of The Madisonian, giving in his letter some points relative to his own personal life and history.
He served as county auditor for two terms, from 1869 to 1873. Removing to Montana in 1879, he made his home in Gallatin county. He served as county commissioner for four years, and was elected senator in 1886. Later he was treasurer of Park county.
He married Miss Ellen Dabney, to them having been born two sons: J. H. and Orlon S., and two daughters, Mrs. Florence Hefferlin and Mrs. Nellie Hefferlin. Six grandchildren complete the family.
