MISTY RACHELLE SMITH

Misty Smith was born February 20,1974 to Frank and Sandi Smith and entered eternal rest on February 1, 2011. Misty’s health problems started when she was a baby as she learned how to crawl and walk with a leg bag, but that didn’t stop Misty from enjoying life that she cherished so much. From the moment she was born until God took her home, she was full of life and had a smile on her face that people will always remember. Misty loved life, loved helping people, especially helping her mom around the house with cooking, laundry or whatever her mom needed. Besides helping her mom, Misty used to loved to tease her mom, or hide things from her and watch her mom pull her hair out looking for them and laughing inside knowing where they were at. Misty loved NASCAR and cheering Denny Hamlin to win, and also betting her dad a dollar on a football game in which Misty was usually right on picking the teams to win. After Frank had surgery, Misty was right there to get him what he needed. Misty loved to go camping and fishing along with going to the Westside Bar and Grille, where she would get shrimp and cheese balls. Rex always knew what Misty wanted.

Misty met the love of her life, David on March 21, 2001 at Lovers Corner, which is where highway 169 and 90 meet. Frank and Sandi knew David’s parents, Bill and Sherry, and after talking with them, hoping Misty would find somebody, Sherry said “I have a son just for Misty”. They met and it was love at first sight, two soul mates found each other. Besides David, Misty also had a very special love for Poshia, Scooter and Sassy, her cats. On Tuesday January 13, 2004 Frank did something very special for his daughter. He gave her one of his kidneys, hoping and praying it would work and she would be alright. Before Frank left the recovery room he wanted to make sure his daughter was alright, and when he knew she was in the recovery room and doing well, he told them they could take him up to his room and he could rest easy, knowing Misty was recovering well. The kidney worked for awhile, but later they were told it wasn’t working and she had to go on dialysis. The kidney that Frank gave her, gave us 7 wonderful extra years with Misty and it is a time we will all treasure. Misty went to DaVita dialysis center for 3 years and they became her other family, treating her well and anytime Frank, Sandi or David needed anything they were there for them. Misty will be greatly missed by all for God took an angel home.

Misty was preceded in death by her grandparents, Forrest and Bessie Smith, grandfather Harold Dismore and Sassy her cat. She is survived by her parents Frank and Sandi Smith of Earlham, her love and companion David Rutledge of Earlham, brother Christopher Jones of Las Vegas, NV; grandmother Marcy Dismore of Battle Ground, IN; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
