Albert Gibbons, oldest son of James and Isabel Gibbons was born near Rockville, Park county, Indiana, August 6, 1859 and came to Madison county, Iowa, with his parents in 1866 where he resided until 1911 when he moved with his family to Kress, Texas.

He was married to Ida M. Thurman September 17, 1892 and to this union were born 4 children: one daughter, and three sons. The daughter died in infancy. The sons are Truman W. of Barney, and Ora and Walker of Kress, Texas.

He united with the Methodist church many years ago and continued in this faith.

About the first of April he left his home in Texas to spend a few days here with his son Truman and other relatives. On arriving here he was stricken with a serious heart affliction and other complications from which he never recovered but continued to fail until on September 4, 1927 he passed away at the home of his father-in-law, C. Thurman.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, three sons, and two grandchildren; also four brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Florence Austin of Lorimor, Mrs. Bell Ricket, Harriet, Ira J., George and John of Barney, Fred of Denver, Colo., all of whom were present at his bedside except two sons, Ora and Walker of Kress, Texas and Fred of Denver, Colo.

The funeral was conducted at Barney, Tuesday at the Church of Christ, by the Rev. Charles E. Bryden and burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
