Death of JOHN GEORGE

John S. George died in Winterset on Oct. 21st, at the age of 76 years, after a period of ill health extending over several years.

A native of New Hampshire, he moved to Winterset over sixteen years ago. His duties as custodian of the court house gave him a wide acquaintance and endeared him to all. Always courteous and kind, he was an admirable officer and the failure of his health was a regret to those who were associated with him closely.

As a veteran of the War of the Rebellion, he was a loyal member of Pitzer Post G.A.R., which assisted at his burial service. Funeral services were held at the Adventist church Monday afternoon, conducted by J. W. Beams of Nevada.
