Milton Tullis was born in Miami county, Ohio in the year 1840, coming to Iowa in 1890. He resided in and about Winterset until his death, having been visiting one of his daughters in Des Moines at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Lillie Ellis of Winterset in 1893, to that union were born Earl Tullis of Chicago; Jennie Haley of Des Moines; Thomas, now dead; and Lloyd Tullis, also of Des Moines.
He was generous to a fault; never professed any Christian faith, but was liked by all who knew him, was good at heart and kind to all.
