Mrs. Effie Butcher died suddenly at her home in Des Moines on July 6th. She was born in Winterset, Dec. 20, 1870. residing here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Turbett until her marriage to George Butcher in 1891.
Mrs. Butcher was a prominent worker in the Rebekahs, serving as state president of the Rebekah assembly in 1912. Since that time and until her death, she has been on the advisory board of the I. O. O. F. home at Mason City. She was also a strong worker in the W. R. C. Mrs. N. D. Lowden and son, Frank, went to Des Moines to attend the funeral services. Mr. Butcher being a niece of Mrs. Lowden.
