Mrs. Werts Is Dead at 92 -

Mrs. Josephine Werts, 92, a Des Moines for 52 years, died Thursday afternoon at the Iowa soldier's home in Marshalltown, Ia. where she lived since 1935.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Lilly's funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale cemetery.

The Crocker Woman's Relief corps, no. 27, of which was a member, will attend the services in a group.

Mrs. Wertz was born in Huntington, Penn., and came to Winterset, Ia. as a child. She also lived in DeSoto, Ia. before coming to Des Moines in 1883.

Her first marriage was to Thomas Rinard. They had three children. Her second marriage was to Elias Werts, a civil war veteran and member of the G.A.R.

Surviving are her three children, a son, Fonnie Rinard, of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Dean Waite, of Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Jack Short of Pasadena, Cal; six grandchildren, 13 great-grand-children and six great-great-grand-children.
