Paul Andrew "Andy" Stafford was born in the village of Lymm in Cheshire, England on October 10, 1961. He died at Bright Kavanagh House Hospice on February 2, 2011. There will be a visitation at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand, from 12 p.m., noon, until 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 12 concluding with a brief service. Interment will follow at Hartman Cemetery in Truro, IA.
Andy was a kind and gentle person who had an artistic talent and drew many wonderful pencil drawings over the years. In earlier years he was an avid cyclist and collected Coca Cola memorabilia. He was a 1979 graduate of Lincoln High School and spent most of his working life in the service business.
Andy will be missed and mourned by his mother and step-father, Sheelagh and Bob Leggett; his father, William Max Stafford; sisters, Susan Johnson and Ruth Stafford (Dr. Kent Schwaegerle); canine brother, Ben; step-brother, Steve Leggett; step-sister, Sherry Leggett; nephews, Nick Reid and Dylan Johnson; niece, Kristin Reid; step-nephew, Cody Leggett and numerous friends including Chuck and Barb Traster, Vickie, Dave, Janet and Carlin.
Preceding Andy in death are his brother, Mike Stafford; step-brother, Rod Leggett; paternal grandparents, Kirby and Hassie Stafford; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Hannah Gibbons.
We would like to thank Andy's co-workers at Southridge HyVee for their kindness during this difficult time.
Last but not least, thank you to the ladies at Bright Kavanagh House whose caring and kindness made Andy's last journey peaceful and dignified.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andy's name to the Animal Rescue League, 5452 NE 22nd St. Des Moines, IA 50313.
