Mrs. E. A. Bruce, one of the early settlers of Crawford township, died Friday night at the age of 76 years, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Williamson in Des Moines. Mrs. Bruce had a stroke of paralysis last Sunday from which she never recovered.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Patterson, Sunday afternoon and burial was made in the Montpelier cemetery. She is survived by three children.

Mrs. John Bruce

Elizabeth Ann Holton was born in Canton, Illinois, May 8th, 1850, and died in Des Moines, Iowa February 5th, 1926, aged 75 years, 8 months and 28 days.

She was married to Abner Crossley September 12, 1872. To this union were born four children, Jennie Richardson, of Kansas City; William, who died in infancy, Reuben, now of Sioux City, Iowa, and Elizabeth Williams, of Des Moines. Mr. Crossley died November 14th, 1904. Mrs. Crossley married John R. Bruce December 8th, 1908, who died September 16th, 1910.

Mrs. Bruce had lived in and about the town of Patterson for a number of years. During her illness she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Williams of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church of Patterson, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Frank Moore. Burial was at Montpeler.
