St. Charles, April 6, Special---Fredrick Johnson, an old time resident of St. Charles died at his home there, last Thursday after a long illness. He was 84 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church, April 1st, by Rev. A. E. George of Mitchellville, a former pastor of St. Charles. He was assisted by Rev. G. G. Carnahan, pastor of the United Presbyterian church and Rev. B. W. McEldowney, pastor of the M.E. church. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery, by his wife, who died in 1910.
Mr. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Allie Slayton, of St. Charles, Mrs. Emma Lyons of Osceola and one son, Glen Johnson, of St. Charles.
Mr. Johnson and family lived in Warren county before coming to St. Charles in 1902, at which time, he and his son-in-law, J. L. Slayton, were engaged in the mercantile business. The deceased was a Civil War veteran.
