Mrs. Eliza Augusta Ludlow, widow of W. O. Ludlow, died at Ottawa, Ill., on last Friday at the advanced age of 79 years. Mrs. Ludlow until four years ago, lived in Winterset and since that time has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Homer H. Hankins. Besides the daughter she leaves one son, Ernest W. One daughter and her husband preceeded her in death.

The remains were brought to Winterset for burial. Funeral services were held at the Tidrick funeral home on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. LeRoy C. Cooley of the Presbyterian church. Pitzer W.R.C. of which she was a loyal member attended the services.

Eliza August Fuller was born at Lowell, Massachusetts, April 21, 1846. Her girlhood was spent in Massachusetts until she came to Iowa in 1868 to live with her only sister, Mrs. Emily Fisk. After a time she was employed by the Winterset Woolen Mills, making her home with the family of Dr. Leonard.

November 1, 1870, she was united in marriage to William O. Ludlow. To this union were born three children, Lizzie Rachel, who died in infancy; Carrie E. and Ernest W., who still survive her. Her husband died June 8, 1907. Since 1868 her life has been spent in Iowa with the exception of ten years in Nebraska and the last four years in Ottawa, Illinois.

She united with the First Presbyterian church of Winterset, February first, 1914, by letter and was a member of the church at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Women’s Relief Corps, Pitzer Post, Winterset, Iowa.

She died November 27, 1925, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Homer H. Hankins, in Ottawa, Illinois. Services were held at the Tidrick Funeral Home Tuesday morning with an address by Rev. LeRoy C. Cooley, pastor of the Presbyterian church and interment was in the Rock City cemetery.
