Mrs. Mary Weeks died at her home in Monroe township Monday evening. She was eighty-five years of age. She came to this county from Missouri in 1863 and has lived in Monroe township all her life. Twelve years ago she had a stroke of paralysis and has been in ill health since then.

She is survived by eight children: Mrs. L. A. Pinckney of Macksburg; Mrs. J. H. Powers, who has been living with her mother; Mrs. E. J. Tilton of Monroe township; Alva of Lincoln, Nebraska; E. D. of Sharlo, Montana; and W. E. Henry and Clyde of Panto, Colorado. Mr. Weeks died in 1915.

Funeral services were held at the fellowship church today at two o’clock, conducted by Rev. Athey of Macksburg. Burial was made in the Hamblin cemetery.

MRS. W. H. WEEKS CALLED BY DEATH

The death of Mrs. W. H. Weeks, wife of the late William H. Weeks. occurred Monday evening, May 9th, at the home where she had lived for the past sixty-five years.

The funeral services were conducted from the Fellowship church Thursday, May 12, by rev. L. H. Athey, of the Macksburg M. E. church and interment in the Hamblin cemetery.

Mary Davis Weeks was one of the well know women of Madison county. She was born in Ray county, Missouri, September 13, 1842, and was untied in marriage to William H. Weeks August 16, 1861, moving to Madison county, Iowa in April, 1862. To this union were born ten children, two daughters having passed on, Lizzie in infancy, and Mary Etta on April 1st 1899.

Mr. Weeks departed this life 12 years ago. Those surviving are Alva B., of Lincoln, Nebraska; William E., of Campo, Colorado; Edgar D., of Charlo, Montana; Henry H., Clyde C., May Pinckney, Blanche Powers, Alta Tilton, all of this county; also seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Weeks suffered a paralytic stroke twelve years ago and had been in feeble health since that time. She was a patient sufferer, always cheerful and always had a smile for everyone. She united with the M. E. church in her native state and always held to that faith.
