Abitha Baker, who lived for many years in Madison county, passed away at the Madison county poor farm Thursday, April 28th. She had been quite poorly for some time and heart trouble and dropsy caused her death.

She was the daughter of Mose and Margaret Baker and was born in Jacksonville, Indiana, in 1842. Miss Baker is the last of a family of ten children. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Mary Fudge of Winterset, and Mrs. Abbie Green of Portland, Oregon, and one nephew, John Baker, of Winterset.

Funeral services were conducted at the Ramsey undertaking parlors Friday afternoon by Rev. D. J. Shenton, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
