RONALD JACOBS, ST. CHARLES

Ronald “Jake” Jacobs, 52, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at his home in St. Charles.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm., today (Wednesday, Jan. 26) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.

Ronald “Jake”, the youngest son born to Walter Eugene and Dorothy Janice (Hulbert) Jacobs, was born April 11, 1958, in Des Moines. He grew up in St. Charles, and graduated from Interstate 35 High School in Truro in 1976. Shortly thereafter he met Lori Vinson, and they were married Oct. 8, 1977, in Des Moines.

They made their home in St. Charles. Jake worked for over 20 years with Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers as a mechanic. Later he was self-employed selling Matco Tools, and most recently he worked in the maintenance department at Indianola Good Samaritan Center.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Janice.

He is survived by his wife, Lori of St. Charles; his two sons, Bryan of Winterset, and Brad of St. Charles; three grandchildren; his father, Walter, of Norwalk; two brothers – Marty of Gowrie, and Gayle of Winterset; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
