Pg 1Death of Elmer R. Overton
Elmer R. Overton, who has been in poor health for some time, died Monday morning, March 28th, at his home in Union township. Mr. Overton was fifty-one years of age. He has been a resident of Madison county for about seven years. Previous to that, he resided in Adair county.
Mr. Overton is survived by his wife and seven children. The children are Mrs. Alfred Lovejoy of Des Moines, Mrs. Emory Cunningham, who lives west of Winterset, Mrs. Billie Low, who has been residing with her parents, Fred Overton, who lives south of Patterson, and Lewis, Harley and David at home.
Short funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton at Ramsey’s undertaking parlors, Wednesday morning at ten o’clock, and the body was taken to Avon, where services were held at the church. Burial was made in the Avon cemetery.
