Death of Mrs. Derrick Bennett

Mrs. Derrick Bennett, one of the pioneer residents of this community, passed away at her home at 1342 West 23rd street, Des Moines, on Tuesday of this week. The body is being brought here for burial in the family lot this afternoon. Mrs. Bennett, who had reached the age of 81, is survived by one son, Elmer E. Bennett, and one daughter Miss Leila Bennett, both residing in Des Moines.

Mrs. Bennett came to Winterset when she was 15 years of age and resided here until twenty-three years ago, when she moved to Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at Dunn’s Undertaking Parlors, Thursday afternoon, at two o’clock.
