ORVILLE WOODS
A message from Denver, told the sad news of the death of Orville Woods. His father, Geo. Woods and aunt, Mrs. John Morgan, were in Denver at the time, called there by his critical condition.
The friends arrived in Peru with the body on Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held at the church Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Milholland. The deceased was buried in the Union Chapel cemetery in Clarke county.
Those present from a distance were two brothers, Carl and Wayne Woods and families from Greene County; an uncle, Hiram Woods and daughter of Murray and Charles Woods and son, Lloyd of Clarke county.

Orville Woods, son of George Woods, a bright promising young man of only 19 short years has been stricken down by that fell destroyer death. The boy had been in a decline for several months and the father had taken him to Denver in the hopes that the change in climate would be beneficial, but such was not to be, and he left this world of suffering and sorrow last Sunday in Denver. His father and aunt, Mrs. John Morgan were with him.
The body was brought to Peru Tuesday afternoon, and the funeral was held at the Christian church Wednesday forenoon at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. Milholland and the body was laid to rest beside his mother in the Union cemetery south of Peru. The sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved father and brothers. The following obituary was read at the funeral.
ORVILLE FRANK WOODS, son of Geo. W. and Clara Woods, was born March 11, 1897, in Madison county, and died February 13, 1916, at Denver, Colorado. Age 19 years, 11 months and 22 days.
Most of his life was spent in Madison and Greene Counties, Iowa.
His mother died when he was a small child. He leaves a father and two brothers, besides numerous relatives and countless friends to mourn his loss.
