Pg 1T. L. Akin, a former resident of this county, died yesterday morning about 2 o’clock at his home near Creston. Mr. Akin was about sixty years of age. He had been in poor health since last fall, having a stroke a few months ago. He had a second stroke a week ago, and he never recovered. Mr. Akin had always lived in the Macksburg neighborhood until about a year ago, when he moved to a farm near Creston.
He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Jennie Reed previous to her marriage, and three sons, Don of Newton, and Glen and Fred at home. He is a brother of Lewis Akin, Mrs. M. O. Brady, and Miss Sara Akin.

Pg 4Theodore Lincoln Akin, son of Louis and Mary Akin, was born in Davis county, Iowa, July 14th, 1864, where he spent his early boyhood. Later in life moving to Madison county, where he resided until about a year ago when he moved with his family six miles southwest of Creston, where he passed away the 12th of January, 1927, at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 28 days.
September 15, 1894, he was united in holy matrimony to Luella Jane Reed and to this union, were born three children, William of Des Moines, Robert Glenn and Floyd Leon, who reside with their parents and were present during his short illness of but a few days.
He was a member of the Macksburg Modern Woodmen of America.
He leaves to mourn his loss, two sisters, Sarah and Emma, one brother, Lewis and one half-brother, William. Two sisters, Alice and Minta, two brothers, Oscar and Gilbert, and four half-brothers, Jesse, Joshua, ----- and William have preceded him to the great beyond. Besides these he leaves a great many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on January 14th, by Rev. Athey of the M. E. church of Macksburg and interment was made in the Macksburg cemetery.
