Enoch Jennings, sixth son of Benjamin and Ann Jennings, was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, May 2nd, 1851, and passed away February 2nd, 1927, aged 75 years and 9 months.

He came with his parents to Louisa county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. The remainder of his life was spent in this vicinity. He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Golden, January 30th, 1877. To this union were born six children, one little daughter, Merial, leaving them in infancy. Those remaining are Mrs. Clara Roseman, Roy W., Lula, Mrs. Mae Repass and Golden; eleven grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.

He united with the United Brethren church when a young man and later, he with his wife transferred his membership to the Friends church and retained his membership to the last. He was active in church work in the Pleasant Grove church of Madison county during the 28 years they lived in that community. Since moving to the present location he has been confined to his home.

To know him was to respect and admire his Christian spirit.

Note: Burial was made in the Van Meter cemetery.
