Page 4Ruby Marie Marchel Draper was born August 23rd, 1897, in Colburn, Colorado and departed this life January 1st, 1927, aged 29 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Ruby was converted under the preaching of Bro. H. W. Brewer in the year 1912, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Elm Grove, later transferring her membership to Peru. She rededicated herself to her Lord and Master during the meetings held by Bro. Pratt of Peru.
She was united in marriage on May 23, 1917 to Nelson Draper.
She leaves to mourn her early departure , her husband, two children Clair Edwin aged 8 and Willis Robert, aged four, her father, F. S. Marchel of Peru, brother Gale Marchel of Martensdale, and sister, Mrs. Loraine Griffiths of New York, a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church in Peru, the Rev. C. D. Cottingham officiating. The Relief Corps performed the very impressive corps work.

Page 5Mrs. Nelson Draper, a resident of Peru, died Saturday morning, January 1st, at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines. Mrs. Draper had been in poor health all fall, and went to the hospital in Des Moines about a week previous to her death. She was operated upon, once, the first of the week and again on Friday, the 31st. The definite cause of her death is not known.
Mrs. Draper was born in Colburn, Colorado, in 1897. She was married to Mr. Draper in 1917. He and his two sons survive her. A brother and sister also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Peru by Rev. C. D. Cottingham, Monday afternoon. The obituary of Mrs. Draper appears in the mortuary column.

Mrs. Nelson Draper, who underwent an operation in the Mercy hospital, died there Saturday morning. Funeral services were held Monday at the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Cottingham. Interment was made in the Peru cemetery.
