Cleo L. Post, 80, of Creston, formerly of Winterset, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery at Winterset. Memorials may be given to her family for a future designation.
Cleo was born on July 17, 1930, at Patterson to Charlie and Mary (Cummings) Cooper. She had been a lifetime of resident of Winterset until moving to Creston a few years ago. Cleo had been a homemaker and was married to Carl Wright first, and then to John Post on Nov. 3, 1950, at Winterset.
Cleo is survived by her sons, Calvin Post of Des Moines, Larry (January) Post of Winterset, and George (Hilka) Post of Lineville, Mo.; daughters, Jean Post of Creston, Rose Post of Winterset, Diane Post of Creston, and Linda Denner of Marshalltown; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary (Cummings) Cooper; husbands, John Post and Carl Wright; brothers, Leroy Cooper, Willard Cooper, and Robert Cooper; sisters, Lara Cooper, Mary Cooper, and Evelyn Cooper; and great grandchild, Audrey Dillinger.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
