George Henry Wehrkamp was born November 3rd, 1860, in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa. There he was baptized and confirmed in the faith of the Lutheran church by Rev. Hinkle.

On the 22nd day of February, 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Storck of Van Meter. To this union three children were born: Albert, Walter, and Marguerite, all of whom survive. He also leaves three sisters and one brother, all residing in Clayton county, with the exception of one sister, who lives at Ramsey, Cherokee county.

Mr. Wehrkamp departed this life November 8th, 1926, at the age of 66 years and 5 days.

Funeral services were conducted at the Jefferson township Lutheran church south of Van Meter by Rev. Lillie, and the body was laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery.
