Ulric Zwingley Waechter, son of J. J. and S. Catharine Waechter, was born in Winterset, Iowa, July 22, 1866, and died at his home in East Peru, October 14, 1915, aged 49 years two months and 28 days.
He was united in marriage to Lillie E. Fenimore May 7, 1891. To this union were born four children, Zelma Dawn, Lloyd Ulric, Henry Otis and Martha Catharine. He and his wife were converted in 1893 during Rev. Goldens meeting and united with the Christian church, but in 1912 they moved their membership to the M. E. church to be with their children, who had united with that body of christian people.
He suffered from poor health for more than 20 years and for several years he expressed to his family and near friends a desire for the time to come in his life when he could do something to help every one along the way, that they might be ready to meet that which was coming to him, and his advice to everyone was to get on the foundation of God. He was ever a kind and loving husband and father and an honorable and conscientious citizen who won the confidence and esteem of all who knew him and dealt with him and will be missed, not only by his family, but by the business circle and a host of friends.
