Death of Henry L. Taylor

Henry L. Taylor, an old time resident of Peru, died last Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock after an illness of several hours. He had a stroke of apoplexy at 9:30 o’clock Friday morning and he never regained consciousness. While he was seventy-nine years of age, he had always been in good health until about six months ago, when he began to fail.

Mr. Taylor came to Madison county in 1892 and located on a farm near Peru. About twelve years ago he moved to Peru, where he has since resided.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. R. J. Cook. More details of his life may be found in the mortuary column.

Peru

Henry Taylor died at his home Friday after a stroke. Mr. Taylor has not been very well all summer but his death was a shock to all. The funeral was held at the house, conducted by Rev. Cook.

MORTUARY - Henry L. Taylor

Henry L. Taylor, son of William and Martha Taylor, was born August 2nd, 1847, in Prebble county, Ohio, and passed away at his home in Peru July 23rd, 1926, at 78 years of age. He came to Iowa with his parents in 1850, settling in Henry county. In October, 1873, he was married to Abigal Hyde, who preceded him in death seven years ago. To this union were born four children, two daughters, both dying in infancy, and two sons, Clyde H. and Charles L. He removed to Madison county in 1892, where he has made his home since.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Clyde H. and Charles L. of Peru, two grandchildren, and six brothers.

Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. R. J. Cook. Interment was made in the Peru cemetery.
