The little daughter, Eva, of Jeff and Rachel Hogg, ceased from suffering and went to join the angel band at 10:15 Sunday evening. Her brief life ended before the cares and sorrows of life touched the tender loving heart, who was ever the sunshine of the bereft home. They will see her again in the home supernal.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Monday afternoon at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Paul Hillman, pastor, assisted by Rev. R. B. Clark of the Christian church, after which the little body was laid in the family lot in the Peru cemetery. Those present from a distance to attend the funeral were Homer Rhodes and wife, Grandma Moore and Miss Nina Young of Winterset; Theodore Stoneman and wife and son Will and wife, Wm. Hogg and wife and Mrs. Alice Chapman of Truro.
Mr. and Mrs. Hogg have the sympathy of the community in their sad affliction. They have buried four daughters before this, and little Eva, a sweet little girl, is their last daughter.
