Hannah Kennedy was born in Philadelphia, Pa., November 16, 1845. With her parents she came to Indiana in 1851 and then to Madison county, Iowa in 1873 and has lived near and in Winterset since that time.

In 1901 she was married to James R. Davis, who died in 1921. A brother John Kennedy died in California in 1923 and a sister, Mrs. Tillie Small died the same year. Only one brother remains, Joseph C. Kennedy of Winterset, Iowa.

Mrs. Davis has been for many years a member of the United Presbyterian church of Winterset and was very faithful in attendance and helpful in every way. Her faith was in Christ and in hope of eternal life she died. On Sabbath night at eleven o’clock, November 15th, she passed peacefully away, just an hour before her eightieth birthday.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. Z. Allen were held at the United Presbyterian church on Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
