Mrs. Alley Elvira Farr Daniel was born in Kentucky and died at the home of her son, Will, near St. Charles, Feb. 18, 1925, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 24 days. On Dec. 16th, she had a light stroke and another on Feb. 13th, and never regained consciousness, gradually becoming weaker until the end.

She came with her father to Indiana when a small girl. She was later married to W. B. Daniel. To this union were born 12 children. They came with their family to Madison county, 43 years ago and have since made this their home. Her husband was called away in 1914 and she has since made her home with her children. One child died when 18 months of age, and Mrs. Mary Shepherd died April 16, 1922.

The surviving children are: Mrs. R. E. Watt of Akely, Minn.; B. F. Daniel of Iron Mountain, Mich.; J. M. Daniel of Spirit Lake, Iowa; T. E. Daniel of Manly, Iowa; M. F. Daniel of Prescott, Iowa; W. A. Daniel of St. Charles and Mrs. Sarah Cooper, Mrs. Eliza Diggs and Mrs. Ida Mitchell all of Winterset; and 45 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, besides other relatives and many friends.

She was a kind and loving mother, always devoted to her family and always ready to lend a helping hand in sorrow and need. Mrs. Daniel was a member of the United Brethren church since she was 14 years old and will be missed by her family and friends.

The funeral was preached by Homer Caskey on Feb. 21st at 11 a.m. at Union Chapel and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery nearby, by the side of her husband.

Note: Burial was made at Union Chapel, South township cemetery.
