Pg 1

Ed. Wasson passed away at his home, two miles northwest of Winterset on Monday, after a brief illness from bladder trouble.

Mr. Wasson’s father was one of the early settlers of Winterset, coming here from Indiana in 1858.

Ezra Edmond Wasson, youngest son of Jehiel and Sarah Wasson, was born in Huntington county, Indiana, November 27th, 1851. He moved with his parents to Madison county, Iowa when seven years old. He was married to Laura C. Koon in 1871, and to this union two children were born, F. L. Wasson of Los Angeles, and C. J. of Bradyville, Iowa.

He has lived on the same farm for almost fifty years. He passed away on March 9th, 1925, aged 73 years. He leaves to mourn his loss besides his wife and two sons, three grandchildren and a host of friends. Two brothers and one sister have preceded him in death, David N. Wasson, killed at the battle of Altoona Pass and Levi Wasson, and Mrs. Mary Gatchel.

Mr. Wasson’s greatest pride was in his honesty to all men and he was known every where for his kindly friendliness. All his family are present except his son Frank, who because of physical disability was unable to come.
