Ben Conn was born in Ripley county, Indiana, Feb. 22, 1850 and died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Albert Buchanan in Des Moines, last Tuesday, Feb. 10th. When a small boy, he came to Iowa with his parents.

He married Nancy Evelyn Grimes and to this union seven children were born, his wife and two children preceding him to the great beyond. He leaves two sons, George of Dodge City, Kans., and James of Doniphan, Mo.; and three daughters: Mrs. Inez Rishlin of Doniphan, Mo.; Mrs. Abbott of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. O. S. Reed of Boone.

Mr. Conn has lived in and around St. Charles nearly all his life, and the past few years alone, until his health got so poorly he was taken to Des Moines to the home of his niece, where he died.

Funeral services were held in the M. E. church that afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. E. George, and his remains were laid to rest in the cemetery west of town.
