ROBERT EDMONDSON, EARLHAM

Robert “Edd” Lee Edmondson, 81 of Earlham, died Nov. 30, 2010, at Dallas County Hospital.

Robert Lee was born on June 17, 1929, in Maynardville, Tenn., to Herbert and Kate Edmondson. He graduated from Maynardville High School and enlisted in the Air Force in August of 1950. He served his community for more than 20 years. He spent many years stationed in Europe, Thailand and Vietnam. Upon retiring he went to work for Oscar Mayer for 10 years and also worked at the Dallas County landfill. He was a member of the Earlham American Legion Post 158.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Harrell, Myrl, Earl, Ray and Marshal Edmondson; a sister, Imogene; a brother-in-law, Ben Bennett; sisters-in-law Irene and Betty Edmondson.

He is survived by his wife, Leanna; three daughters – Jeanie Jo Marshal of Perry, Rhonda Clement of Earlham and DeAnna Radcliff of Clive; a brother, Glen Edmondson of Maryville, Tenn.; two sisters, Kathleen Bennett of Maynardville, Tenn., and Lela Edmondson of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters-in-law Sue Edmondson and Nellie Edmondson; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many friends, nieces and nephews.

ROBERT 'EDD' LEE EDMONDSON

Robert "Edd" Edmondson, the son of Herbert and Kate Edmondson, was born in Maynardville, Tennessee on June 17, 1929. He passed away Nov. 30, 2010 at Dallas County hospital at the age of 81.

He graduated from Maynardville High School and enlisted in the Air Force in August of 1950. He served his community for more than 20 years. He spent many years stationed in Europe, Thailand and Viet Nam. Upon retiring he went to work for Oscar Mayer for 10 years and also worked at the Dallas County landfill.

Edd liked to work in his garden and also loved making wine and beer. He helped build they home they lived in and enjoyed woodworking. He really enjoyed family gatherings and being with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Edd belonged to the Earlham American Legion Post 158.

He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Kate Edmondson; brothers: Harrell, Myrl, Earl, Ray and Marshal Edmondson; sisters; Imogene; brother-in-law Ben Bennett; sisters-in-law Irene and Betty Edmondson.

Edd leaves behind: his wife Leanna (Sue); daughters: Jeanie Jo Marshal of Perry; Rhonda (Doug) Clement of Earlham; DeAnna (Rick) Radcliff of Clive; brother Glen (Lynne) Edmondson of Maryville, TN; sisters Kathleen Bennett of Maynardville, TN; Lela Edmondson of Knoxville, TN; sisters-in-law Sue Edmondson and Nellie Edmondson; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many friends, nieces and nephews.

"Grandpa" will be missed by all who knew him.
