Patricia E. Kuhns, 66, of Macksburg (formerly of Winterset) died at her home on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial graveside service will be held in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date, time and date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Pat was born Nov. 10, 1944, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of Fred L. and Laurrene (Robinson) Warren. She married David Kuhns on Oct. 24, 1964, at the First Christian Church of Echo Valley in Des Moines.
During her working career, Pat worked over 20 years at the Sears, Roebuck and Company catalog store in Winterset. Most recently, she worked 10 years at Wells Fargo Financial in Des Moines. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and Winterset Women’s Bowling Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fred L. Warren, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, David, of Macksburg; two daughters – Shelly Kuhns of Winterset and Shannon Hamner, also of Winterset; a sister, Joyce Warren of Portage, Mich.; a brother, Richard Warren of Urbandale; three grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Barb Howard of DeSoto and Dixie Herman of Illinois; a brother-in-law, Terry Kuhns of Winterset; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Patricia Kuhns, 66, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born November 10, 1944 in Springfield, MO, to Fred L. and Laurrene (Robinson) Warren. She married David Kuhns on October 24, 1964.
Pat worked many years at the Sears Catalog Store in Winterset and most recently at Wells Fargo Financial in Des Moines.
Pat and David were passionate about raising and showing quarter horses. Most of all, Pat loved her family and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandkids, attending many of their activities.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, David of Macksburg; two daughters, Shelly Kuhns (Dave Marker) of Winterset and Shannon Hamner (Brian) also of Winterset; a sister, Joyce Warren (David Cross) of Portage, MI; a brother, Richard Warren (Raejean) of Urbandale; three grandchildren, Savannah Marker, Tobias and Olivia Hamner; and uncle, Warren Robinson (Wava) of Lincoln, IL.
